Digital Learning Tools for Both In-Person and At-Home Learners
Although students may be learning through different instructional models, Allen ISD is committed to providing consistency in high-quality instruction while utilizing relevant learning tools with all students. The district will use Google Classroom and Canvas as our learning management systems to streamline all digital tools, academic communication, and content to provide a connected learning experience. To engage in relevant academic work, grades Prekindergarten through 6 students will utilize Google Classroom and Seesaw while grades 7 through 12 will continue to utilize Canvas.
Elementary Student and Family Resources
Google Classroom is the learning management system for all Allen ISD students and teachers in PreK - grade 6. Whether you are an At-Home or In-Person learner for the 2020-2021 school year, you will be using Google Classroom to engage in academic work.

Seesaw is a platform utilized in conjunction with Google Classroom that gives students the ability to create and reflect on their learning while building their academic portfolio.
Secondary Student and Family Resources
Canvas is the learning management system for all Allen ISD students and teachers in grades 7-12. Whether you are an At-Home or In-Person learner for the 2020-2021 school year, you will be using Canvas to engage in academic work.

Video Conferencing Platforms
Teachers will utilize Google Meet or Zoom as the video conferencing tools for live learning interactions with students. Teachers will provide grade-level appropriate guidance and expectations for students as they learn how to use Google Meet or Zoom. Students will join live sessions using a link shared by their teachers in either Google Classroom or Canvas. The Student Code of Conduct standards will apply to students attending a live learning session.
