2021-2022 COVID Dashboard Update

  • Allen ISD continues to value the feedback we receive from our parents, and the district has made the decision to publish a real-time COVID-19 data dashboard. The dashboard is updated as cases are entered and features total active cases at both the districtwide level and at each campus. Active cases are based on symptom onset and lab-confirmed reported cases of COVID-19.

Allen ISD is reporting all lab-confirmed (PCR and or Antigen) COVID-19 cases. We are not reporting home-based self-test results. However, we are asking parents to keep students home who are showing symptoms or are feeling sick. When a lab-confirmed case is reported at each campus, Allen ISD will send an email to the parents of a child who shared a classroom with the individual who tested positive. Based upon when the campus received notification of the lab-confirmed positive test, when the symptoms first appeared, when the test was conducted, and the 10-day waiting period, the timing of the dashboard and emails sent to parents may not be aligned. Allen ISD staff and school nurses are reviewing the reported lab-confirmed cases to ensure the integrity of the numbers indicated in the data dashboard.

A reported case indicates that a student or staff member who was on campus has received a lab-confirmed positive case of COVID-19 and have notified campus staff. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until the campus verifies that the individual meets the return criteria set by state and local health authorities.
