    As you work to create your schedule and plan for your high school experience, here are some important terms you should know.

    COURSE SELECTION: Students identify the courses they need and want in Skyward. This occurs at the end of the fall semester.

    ARENA SCHEDULING: Students schedule their courses in Skyward. This occurs in the middle of the spring semester.

    ACADEMIC PLANNING GUIDE (APG): This is a planning guide with information about

    • General academic information
    • Course listings, including codes and descriptions
    • Advanced academics information
    • Graduation planning and House Bill 5
    • Endorsements
    • Resources

  • Mid December:

    Course Selection opens and closes

    Early January:

    Dual Credit Interest Meetings

    Application Deadlines

    IB Interest Meetings

    Mid January - Early February:

    Dual Credit Registration Opens

    Priority DC Deadlines

    Individual Scheduling Meetings with Counselors for incoming 11th and 12th

    Course Selections Finalized (no changes)

    Mid - Late February:

    Final DC Deadlines

    UIL Fine Arts Course Placements Scheduled

    Application/Interview Course Acceptance Communicated

    Early March:

    Master Schedule Finialization

    Late March:

    Senior Arena Opens and Closes

    Early April:

    Junior Arena Opens and Closes

    Late April:

    Sophomore Arena Opens and Closes

    Early May:

    Course Change Request Window opens and Closes

    Schedules Finalized
