LFC teachers use ClassroomScreen(tag/link) to support Kagan(tag/link) in the classroom! This tool benefits the teachers and the students and helps make cooperative learning and classroom management more feasible, but it is ultimately about creating a better learning environment for students to learn in a well-managed and engaged setting.
Read-Share-Grow
This grant under English Language Arts (Secondary) Curriculum was awarded to Claudia Hendricks and will benefit 130 students at Lowery Freshman Center.
Read-Share-Grow will provide a freshman English classroom with books for students to choose from and read for literature circles. Teenagers often don’t know what they want to read, but when they see a book that reflects who they are and what they are going through, they are much more likely to pick it up. And when they have the opportunity to discuss what they’re reading with their peers in literature circles, they begin to see and experience the bigger world through the eyes of someone else. Possibilities and imagination take over and young minds bloom through Read-Share-Grow!

Training will be provided to allow easy integration into district curriculum and to academic classroom teachers that want to use it for enhancing learning in their class.
