My name is Melissa Herzog and this will be my 23rd year to teach.  I also taught first and third grade in Farmers Branch prior to making Allen my home.  I am thrilled to be teaching at Preston and I am so excited about having the opportunity to spend this year working with you and your child.

I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a specialization in early childhood and an emphasis in reading.  I have certifications in gifted and talented education and English as a second language. I grew up in Houston with my parents and one older brother. 

My husband, Stuart, and I have been married just over eighteen years and have a daughter Amelia, who is twelve and attending seventh grade at Ford Middle School in Allen. My son, Everett, is 7 and is in second grade here at Preston  I enjoy shopping, reading, watching movies, baking and spending time with friends and family.

This year we will learn how exciting it is to read, dive in to math, complete science experiments, and explore our world.  We will also learn to work together to achieve goals, share with others, and respect everyone’s thoughts and words.
