Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Ms. Johnson and I am so excited to be teaching first grade here at Preston this year! I graduated college in May of 2021, so this will be my second year of teaching. I am thrilled to be a part of the Preston Pride!

I grew up in Grapevine and went to Colleyville Heritage High School. I am the youngest out of 4 siblings and 2 in-laws, we have one big family! I graduated from the University of North Texas, majoring in elementary education with an ESL supplemental. I experienced a full year of student teaching in Lantana, Texas. I taught fifth grade science and social studies, and second grade for all subjects. This experience made me realize my love for science and social studies!

Aside from teaching, there are a couple of things that I survive off of. First, I absolutely love dogs. Unfortunately I do not have one of my own, but if you have one let me know! I also love iced coffee, crime shows, and "The Office". 

I cannot wait to spend the year with you. In my classroom, we grow together, respect one another, and everyone is welcome!
