About Social Studies
-
Allen ISD Social Studies students apply self-guided discovery and classroom experience to gain insights into the building blocks of society including history, geography, economics, civics, science, and technology.
The goal is to provide the stepping stones as the student advances through the grades that lead to an expanded knowledge of the histories, contexts, and cultures of the world, the United States, and Texas.
Social Studies instruction in Allen ISD is built around these beliefs.
The curriculum in Allen ISD is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) which are the state standards for what students should know and be able to do. To access the TEKS for each grade level and course, click on this link.
