My name is Erin Royster and I will be the new librarian at Boon this year! 

This will be my 9th year in education, but my first year as a librarian! I taught 3rd grade Reading, Writing, and Social Studies for 8 years before beginning this new adventure, and I am so excited to continue to help students develop a passion for reading!

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Education from Texas A&M University in College Station (WHOOP!), and then earned my master's degree in Educational Technology and Library Science from Texas A&M Commerce. I spent my first three years teaching 3rd grade in Houston, and then moved back to the Dallas area and have taught 3rd grade for the last 5 years right here in Allen at Preston Elementary!

When I am not at school, I love to spend my time reading books, going to concerts, traveling with my husband, and spending time with our fur-babies Anastasia and Ollie. This year is also extra special because we will be adding a sweet baby girl to our family as well! 

I am looking forward to a great school year and am so excited to be a Boon Patriot!
