Library Policies and Procedures

Students may come to the library individually, with a class for book checkout, research or to use a computer.

    Please remember wear
your ID.  You will need to scan in and out of the library when visiting, and you will also need your ID to check out books.

CIRCULATION: Checkout Limits - up to 3 books, for 3 weeks; 1 magazine, overnight checkout. If you are not finished with your book, we will allow you to renew it as long as no one else has reserved it.

OVERDUE FINES: 10 cents per day late, with 2 day grace period (free days!)

NOTICES: Notices for fines and overdue books are e-mailed when items become due. If an e-mail address is not available, notices will be distributed to the students through English teachers. Also, pay attention to the announcements...at least once per nine weeks, we will sponsor a Food for Fines canned food drive. You will be able to bring in a can of food to have your fine waived. What a deal!
Please, please, please turn your books in on time! We don't like to charge fines or hunt you down for late books. If you are not finished with a book that you are reading, please stop by and let us know and we will be happy to renew it for you.
LOST/DAMAGED BOOKS: If a book is lost, the replacement cost is paid by the person to whom the book is checked out. A fee is charged for books damaged while checked out. The fee depends on the amount of the damage. So, treat your books with care!
If you think you might have lost a book, please let us know. We will mark it as lost, and ask you to keep looking for it. If, however, the book is not found within a reasonable amount of time, you will need to pay for a replacement.

The library is open for your convenience before and after school. You may also come visit us any time with your teacher's permission, as long as you bring yellow library pass from your teacher and your ID.
DROP-IN COMPUTER LAB: You may use the Drop-In Computer Lab (the 8 computers closest to the circulation desk) before, during, or after school. Please bring a library pass from your teacher. You must also sign in on the clipboard on the circulation desk. If you come before school, you must go through the office and get a ticket from Mrs. Engel.
We love to see you! Stop by for a visit!
