• ALLEN DANCE DEPARTMENT INFORMATION  

     

    The Allen dance department is open to all students, regardless of previous training. Novice dancers and skilled dancers alike will find a place in the dance department. Please read below for a detailed description of the fabulous dance classes we offer at Allen High School!  

    DANCE I-IV 

    We offer four years of dance training: Level I - IV during the school day. Successful completion of two semesters will satisfy the Fine Arts credit or PE credit required for graduation. Classes will cover jazz, ballet, tap, modern, and hip hop styles along with a variety of general health, fitness and wellness concepts. All students perform in our Winter Dance Concert, go on a dance field trip, and much more!

    NO AUDITION REQUIRED FOR LEVEL I-IV. 

     


    SILVER STARS

    Our exciting Silver Stars program is the next step for dancers seeking a more intense focus on dance performance and dance technique. This class is designed to prep each student for Tallenette auditions. Silver Stars is open to incoming 9th-12th graders and is the highly recommended course for students planning to try out for the Tallenettes Dance Team. Applications will be available at Allendrillteam.com on January 5th and will be due January 19th. Late applications will not be accepted.  Tryouts will be in the Allen HS dance studio on Monday, January 30th & Tuesday, January 31st from 4:30-6:30pm.  The Silver Stars rehearse before school two-three times a week in the fall only, perform at 2-4 freshman/JV football games & 2 varsity games with the Tallenettes, freshman pep rallie(s), and the dance department annual Holiday Show & Tallenette Showcase.

    TALLENETTES DANCE TEAM

    The Tallenettes Dance Team is comprised of approximately 40+ advanced dancers. Applications will be available at Allen drill team.com on October 11th and will be due November 9th. Late applications will not be accepted.  Tryouts will be the week of November 14th-November 17th from 7:30-8:20am in the Allen HS dance studio . Mock tryouts will be November 16th at 7am in the Allen HS dance studio and formal tryouts will be on Thursday, November 17th at 5pm.  The Tallenettes rehearse year-round before school and perform at all varsity football games, pep rallies, and the dance department annual Holiday Show & Tallenette Showcase. Each February they compete at dance competitions across the state.
