I grew up in a family of teachers.  My grandmother taught elementary, high school and college.  My grandfather taught high school and college.  He also had a elementary school named after him in Corpus, Shannan Elementary.  My mother taught elementary school.  Needless to say I did not want to be a teacher, but when I was in 8th grade I had a wonderful History Teacher, Mr Robinson.  He made history come alive. For our 8th grade trip he took us to Washington DC.  It was amazing.  When we returned he taught us about the Revolution War.  At the end of the week he brought us outside to see real weapons, kitchen utensils and tents.  From that day forward I wanted to be just like him.  One of my first jobs was working in the church day care.  I worked there for 16 years (in between going to high school and college).  I attended Stephen F. Austin State University and received my BSIS is Elementary Education, Reading and Art.

I started my teaching career in Plano ISD teaching Art at 2 Elementary Schools, Harrington and Menden Hall, for 1 year.  I transferred to Richardson ISD to teach Art at Classical Magnet.  I taught at CMS for 5 years.  I also taught at Forest Lane Academy in Richardson in the 5th grade.

In 2003 my son Started Kindergarten, so I decided to teach in Allen.  I have been a member of the Rountree family for 14 years.  I have taught 3rd grade, 2nd grade, Kindergarten and now ART!!!.  I am so excited about teaching ART.  This will be an exciting year!!! I have so many exciting project for the students.
