I hope this will be a great year of learning and exploring the world around us.We will cover the following units in Science: Energy Resources, Force/Speed/Graphing Motion, Thermal Energy, Energy Transformations, Density, Physical Properties/Changes, Chemical Properties/Changes, Elements and Compounds, Layers of the Earth, Plate Tectonics, Classification of Rocks, Solar System/Space Travel, Characteristics of Organisms, and Ecosystems. We will focus on the world in Social Studies, looking at the geography, culture, economics, and government as we travel through different regions of the world. This will be my 30th year at Story, and my 22nd year teaching sixth grade. I have also taught fourth and fifth grades at Story. I moved to Allen when I was 3 and attended Allen ISD schools from Kindergarten through graduation. I graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education) and earned my Master's Degree in Education from Texas A&M University in Commerce.I love to spend time with my husband, son, and dogs - Sunny and Tilly. You can usually find me reading a book or watching football, baseball, and hockey (especially Texas Aggies, Dallas Stars, and Arizona State Sundevils).
