I was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 19, 1973. I went to school at Atkins Junior High and Monterey High School, in Lubbock Texas. I graduated from Lubbock Monterey High School in 1991. After high school I attended Texas Tech University, and received a degree in Range Wildlife and Fisheries Management. After graduating college, I worked in a clothing store while I went back to school to get my teaching certificate.
On July 22, 2000 I married my wife Donna. The following year, in 2001, I began my teaching career at Mackenzie Middle School in Lubbock. Through my years at Mackenzie, I taught both 7th and 8th grade science. While at Mackenzie I coached the Robotics Team and started the Mackenzie Astronomy club. I was also in charge of the Positive Behavior Support team at Mackenzie, and for many years I taught a "Why Try" class for under motivated students.
On November 27th 2006 my son Kemper was born. A few years after Kemper was born, we started thinking that we wanted to give our son more opportunities and life experiences than Lubbock had to offer. In the Summer of 2010 my wife, son, and I moved to the Metroplex. I began teaching in Allen ISD at Ford Middle School starting in the 2010-2011 school year.
Moving to North Texas has been a wonderful experience for my family and myself. We love going to Six Flags and Ranger games during the summer, and dust storms and 60 mile per hour winds are now a distant memory. Kemper is now in 6th grade at Bolin here in Allen.
My wife, Donna is also a teacher. She has taught in Lubbock, Frisco, and Highland Park. She is starting her first year this year in Allen teaching 4th grade at Olson Elementary.
I have two older brothers, Brad and Brian. Brad lives in Dallas and works in construction. Brian is a banker and lives in Lubbock with his wife and two kids, Parker and Mackenzie. My parents live both in Dallas and in Lubbock. My mother, Diane is very active in PTA. She is the past president of Texas PTA. My father, De, is the is a recently retiered bank. My Parents split their time living in both Dallas and Lubbock.
I have a great connection with my family and all 10 of use take a family vacation each year to some exotic location. As a family we have traveled to Hawaii, Costa Rica, Turks and Caicos, Cancun, and the Dominican Republic.
