Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Matt Russell and I am the principal at Ford Middle School. As a 23 year career educator, I am starting my fourth year at Ford and have 22 years of service to Allen ISD. In my time in Allen I worked at Allen High School for 19 years, serving as a special education teacher, vocational adjustment coordinator, 504 coordinator, House Principal, and as one of the Associate Principals.
As Allen residents, my wife Kendra and I are active in the community raising our two daughters, Kennedy and Mallory. Our family enjoys RV camping, long road trips and spending time together. As an outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy running, going for long hikes, hunting and fly fishing. I also enjoy reading a good book and continually learning to do new things.
Growing up a North Texas native, I attended high school in the small town of Pilot Point, where my parents still live. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University, receiving my BS in Education with teaching certifications in PE and Special Education. After teaching for a number of years, I completed my Masters at Lamar University, culminating with my Principal Certification.
Here at Ford Middle School we believe in what we call the Ford Family. This includes students, parents, teachers and community members with connections to FMS. If you are reading this, please consider yourself part of the family and follow us on Facebook (@FordMSMustangs), Twitter (@FordMSPrincipal), or Instagram (fordmsmustangs) to keep up with all of the great things that are happening at Ford.
I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org Please let me know how I can be of service to you.
