OR fine arts credit for successful completion of of dance. Classes will cover jazz, ballet, modern, and hip hop styles along with a variety ofgeneral health, fitness and wellness concepts. All students perform in our Winter Dance Concert, go on a dance field trip, and much more!Students are encouraged to continue their dance journey at Allen High School to finish his/her fine arts or PE credits (dance level II-IV are offered). ADVANCED DANCEThis course is held at Allen High School during the school day only. It is open to students 9-12 that audition for the course. This class focuses on advanced and rigorous dance training. All students perform in our Winter Dance Concert & the annual Tallenette Showcase.There will be auditions for our advanced dance class for 2020-2021 in the spring.
Our exciting Silver Stars program is the next step for dancers seeking a more intense focus on dance performance and dance technique. This class is designed to prep each student for Tallenette auditions. Silver Stars is open to incoming 9th-12th graders and is the highly recommended course for students planning to try out for the Tallenettes Dance Team. Tryout candidates and one parent/guardian must be present at the tryout meeting on October 29th at 7:00pm in the Allen HS Library. Tryouts will be in the Allen High School dance studio on Monday, December 2nd & Tuesday, December 3rd from 4:30-6:30pm. The Silver Stars rehearse before school two-three times a week in the fall only, perform at 2-4 freshman/JV football games & 2 varsity games with the Tallenettes, freshman pep rallie(s), and the dance department annual Holiday Show & Tallenette Showcase.

TALLENETTES DANCE TEAM
The Tallenettes Dance Team is comprised of approximately 50-60 advanced dancers. Tryout candidates and one parent/guardian must be present at the tryout meeting on October 29th at 6:00pm in the Allen HS Library. Tryouts will be the week of November 18th-November 21st from 7:00-8:20am in the Allen HS dance stduio . Mock tryouts will be November 20th at 7am in the Allen HS dance studio and formal tryouts will be on Thursday, November 21st at 5pm. The Tallenettes rehearse year-round before school and perform at all varsity football games, pep rallies, and the dance department annual Holiday Show & Tallenette Showcase.
