Mrs. Sheri Nelson's Kindergarten Classroom

Welcome to Cheatham Elementary! My name is Sheri Nelson and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher.  I grew up in Plano and graduated from Plano Senior High School.  I attended college at The University of North Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies.  This will be my 20th year of teaching in public school. Seventeen years in kindergarten and three in 1st grade.  Kindergarten is my first love.

My husband, Brian, and I have been married for 18 years and we have a son named Braydon ,who is 13, and a daughter named Marisa, who is 6 years old.  Braydon is going into 8th grade at Curtis. Marisa will be in 1st grade here at Cheatham.  We love to travel and spend time together as a family.

I am so excited about this school year and the opportunity to work with you to make your child's first school experience amazing.   Sending your little ones to "big" school can be very stressful to you and to them so if you have any questions please  feel free to call or email me.  I am here to help make this experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.  This is going to be a wonderful year!
