    Hello! My name is Kirsten Hammons. I'm new to Cheatham Elementary this year, but this will be my 12th year as a Speech Therapist in Allen ISD. My husband Dan and I are the proud parents of 5 children. Our oldest is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University who is currently working on obtaining her alternative teaching certification. We also have a Junior currently at Texas A&M, another Junior at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Freshman at Oklahoma State University. Our youngest is a high school Junior.

    I graduated from Baylor University in 1994 (Sic 'em Bears!) and received my Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in 1996.  I love helping children to be better communicators, and am so glad to be a Cheatham Charger! 
     
    Some things we work on in Speech Therapy include: grammar skills, social language skills, appropriate use of voice, fluency in speaking and reading, articulation skills, and receptive and expressive language skills.
