Hi! WELCOME BACK to the new school year! I am thrilled to begin my sixth year teaching at Anderson Elementary School! This will be my 9th year teaching in Allen ISD and my 16th year teaching Special Education! I have a HUGE passion for teaching our special learners, and I am truly excited about the opportunity to teach and work with your children! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have, or just to share how your child's summer went! This years Anderson theme is "Game On." We will be "TWISTING" into Resource II! I cannot wait for the excitment that this year will bring to us.
Mrs. Suzanne Endress will be my paraprofessional for the 4th year in a row! I am SO excited to have her back with us!
In our classroom, we work on developing each student’s academic readiness, vocabulary, social skills, and life skills. We use the Unique Learning System Curriculum, Vizzle, Edmark, and a variety of other active, engaging learning tools.
A little about me:
I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise, Sport, and Science, and Bachelor's degree in Human Development. Upon graduation I was the assistant athletic trainer at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, Texas, but something was missing in my life. I realized that I had a strong desire to teach children with special needs, so after that year was up, I packed up my bags and moved to North Texas. I received my Master's degree in Special Education from The University of North Texas in 2005. I have taught a variety of special education classes including resource, PPCD, Life Skills, and now Resource II.
When I am not teaching or preparing for school, I am chasing around my two precious children, Hailey and Colin! We have two goldendoodles, Lucky and Molly that I talk about ALL the time. I also love boxing, reading, exercising, and drinking coffee! :)
