I am so excited to be starting my eighth year as assistant principal at the BEST elementary campus in town! I look forward to building relationships with students, parents, staff, and other members of our community to make Bolin the optimal learning environment for every child.
I am starting my 23rd year in education. I began my career as a middle school reading teacher in a neighboring district before I moved to Marion Elementary as a charter staff member in 2003. I have taught 6th-grade reading and math, in addition to the Student Support Lab. I served as a Campus Intervention Specialist for 5 years before coming to Bolin.
My husband Jason and I have been married for 21 years, and we have three children. Maddie is a freshman at The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Jacob is a sophomore at Allen High School, and Morgan is four years old. We have 3 dogs, Odie, Rocket, and Autumn, in addition to our cat, Scout. Officially no more pets for the Wendlands!
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and my master's degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas. When I have spare time, I love to read, watch movies, and cookout with my family.
I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones to the family. It's going to be a great year of empowering learners to reach their full potential!
