Mrs. Herron started her career in education as a Middle School Theatre Arts teacher in 2000. In 2005 she took a position as an elementary librarian in Garland ISD where she used her creative Theatre background to develop a fun, inviting library program that made reading and learning exciting for everyone.
In 2009 her twins, Kyla and Lucas, were born and she made the decision to stay home with them. When the twins started going to school, Mrs. Herron went back to school herself. She is so excited to have been a part of the Kerr family since 2014 and loves to learn from all of the students and faculty. Nothing makes her happier than connecting kids to books and helping them become lifelong learners.
Over the summer of 2019, Mrs. Herron got to spread her love of books all the way to Jamaica! Teaching With Jamaica was able to create a library of 3,600 books for Hemmingay Preperatory and Kindergarden as well as give classroom libraries to the 12 teachers and a book to every student and parent, thanks to donations from the community, including Kerr families! Thank you for helping share the love of reading!
Mrs. Herron continues to work hard to connect students to books, even if she can't be with them in person. She looks forward to connecting digitally and fostering a love for learning and literature.
