I am blessed to teach at the absolute BEST elementary school anywhere! 5th grade is a year full of challenges, growth, and celebrations. We are learning to take risks, stretch ourselves, and work to become excellent in all we do. My goal is to provide a fun atmosphere where taking risks, working hard, and being a part of something bigger are encouraged and fostered.
In order to ensure your child’s success, students are expected to follow the 3 R’s (R³).
1.) Be Respectful of yourself, others, our school, and our tools;
2.) Be Responsible for your choices, your work, and your things; and
3.) Be Ready to learn.
I’ve taught for 20+ years. My time has been spent teaching a variety of grade levels and subjects. I graduated from Austin College. I returned to study in the Austin Teacher Program. While studying at Austin College, I met my wife, Laurie. We’ve been married for 24 years. We have been blessed with two incredible kids, Zach and Lani Grace. Zachary was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in February of 2017. He reached total remission in May. He gained his angel wings in November of 2017 when he was struck by a complication. He loved God, soccer, football, basketball, video technology, and his family and friends. Lani Grace is a junior in high school. She’s a competitive gymnast and dancer. She loves music and learning to play the piano and ukulele. She also likes to read and create all sorts of art. As a family, we love God and enjoy spending time on the beach or playing games with family and friends.
I have been blessed to work with and learn from some of the absolute best educators anywhere. In 1999, I was honored to receive the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year award while teaching at Washington Elementary School in Sherman. I love my job and work hard to ensure each child I work with enjoys the time they spend in my classroom and is as successful as they possibly can be.
