Welcome to the Boon ClinicAmy Hargrove, RN972.747.3331 ext. 304
Welcome Boon Patriots!! My name is Amy Hargrove and the students call me "Nurse Amy".
I have been a Registered Nurse for 29 years and am proud to say that I have worked in Pediatrics my entire nursing career. This will be my 13th year as the school nurse at Boon and 15th year in Allen ISD. My nursing experiences have ranged from Pediatric Intensive Care, Newborn Nursery/NICU to 13 years of experience working for Cook Children's Hospital as a Clinical Coordinator in an Out-Patient Multi-Specialty Clinic. My husband Shawn and I have two sons who both were Boon Patriots and graduated from Allen High School. Zack is a graduate of Newman University and played collegiate baseball for the Newman Jets. Kyle is a freshman at University of Arkansas. We love Allen and have been residents for 25 years. My ultimate goal in the school clinic is to provide for your child's needs while encouraging prompt return to the classroom. I generally do not call parents with every clinic visit. I will notify parents when the student is running a fever (over 100 degrees F) or if a significant injury has occurred at school. I try very hard to keep their visits to the clinic a positive experience and filled with reassurance.I try to communicate with students, parents, and teachers in many ways including: newsletter notifications, letters home, phone calls, and e-mails. The easiest way to get a hold of me during school hours is via e-mail. I am busy at times with students, so phone calls might be hard to answer. Feel free to leave a message on my voicemail and I will return your call as soon as possible. Please refer back to my website frequently in order to find up-to-date health information, print off clinic forms, and find links to health-related websites and topics.I look forward to a healthy year and am honored to care for your children.
