My name is Mrs. Nell O’Brien. I am delighted to be your teacher this year and I hope you are as excited about starting school as I am! We will have a wonderful time getting to know each other, making new friends, and learning together.

This will be my 11th year of teaching--Preschool, Kindergarten, First grade, 3rd-5th grade reading—and my fourth year teaching Kindergarten at our amazing Green Elementary. I earned my teaching degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in reading at Texas A&M University.  I also completed graduate school; earning a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M. I am certified in Gifted and Talented (GT) and English as a Second Language (ESL).

My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 25 years. We have four wonderful children, Claire, John Paul, Will and Mary Kate.
