Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Anya Timoteo. I am so excited to be your child’s first grade teacher!
Let me tell you a little bit about me. I was born in Russia and lived there until I was twelve years old. What brough me to America is that I and one of my siblings got adopted by an American family through an organization known as International Christian Adoption or ICA. I have loved to work with children since I was very young, and was inspired to be a teacher when I became a Kindergarten teacher’s assistant in tenth grade. While still in high school, I started working at a horse ranch that gave therapeutic riding lessons to children with disabilities. To put myself through college I started working at childcare centers. I have worked with different ages from toddlers to after school children. I graduated summa cum laude from A&M Commerce in December of 2016 with a bachelors’ degree in Interdisciplinary studies EC-6.
I am married and my husband is from Brazil. I have two sweet children; my daughter Alexa who is 6 and is starting first grade this year, and my son Ethan who is four. We are expecting our third child which will be due in February 2021.
During free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing and basically anything that involves family and outdoors! I love the beach, so any opportunity I get to get away somewhere for a vacation, it is always to a place with a beach. I enjoy watching football and am a Green Bay Packers fan.
My approach to teaching is from the view of the childs needs. I treat children with love, compassion, and respect and expect things from them that are age appropriate.
Us working together as a team, I am confident your child will have a fun filled, successful year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Anya Timoteo
