Hi, I am Kristi Whatley. I was born and raised in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas. I am a graduate of Baylor University, where I received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education. I received a Masters of Education with specialties in Math and Technology from SMU. During my high school and college summers, I worked at a water ski camp that focused on building self-esteem through teaching water skiing, canoeing, sailing, team building, and archery. The lessons I learned as a camp counselor have definitely helped me in the classroom. When I graduated college, I returned home to the Lake Highlands area, and I began teaching 2nd grade at Wallace Elementary. I moved over to Hyer Elementary in 2008 and started teaching 3rd grade. This is my twelth year in education, and I am so excited to start a new year and new position of Instructional Coach here in Allen!
I am married and have a fur-baby named Boda. My husband, Jace, and I met working at camp, and we have been together for eight years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to movies, shopping, baking, playing golf, and eating good food. I also enjoy traveling to the beach and to the mountains to snow ski. In the summertime, I spend most of my time at the lake water skiing, boating, and just hanging out.
