Chandler Elementary

Hello! I'm Dawn Horton, your Chandler School Counselor, and I'm so thankful to be a CHEETAH! I love working in Allen ISD as a School Counselor! Allen, Texas is such a special place - it's my hometown, and I'm a 1993 Allen High School graduate. GO EAGLES! After I received my bachelors degree in Education & Music from The University of Texas at Austin (HOOK 'EM HORNS!), I earned my Masters degree in Counseling from Texas A&M Commerce.

I am happily married to my husband of 20 years, Scott. We have a daughter, Hannah, who is a Junior at Allen High School. Our son, Will, is a 5th Grade Chandler Cheetah. We love to spend time together as a family traveling, going to musicals, and cheering on the Allen Eagles, Texas Longhorns (me!) and the Aggies (my husband!). My husband and I are musicians and we enjoy singing together at our church. We have two mostly sweet dogs, Carmen & Cooper, who make us smile every day!

Before I came to be the counselor at Chandler, I have enjoyed previous careers such as music teacher at Rountree Elementary, school counselor at Green Elementary, and of course, one of the greatest jobs - MOM!
