I am Ms. Patterson! I am so excited to be teaching reading and writing at Green Elementary School! This is my 9th year in education. I spent 7 years in Rockwall ISD where I taught 7th grade Texas History and 7th and 8th grade Special Education. This is my second year teaching reading and writing at Green.
I graduated high school from Rockwall High school and I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN!
I have a puppy named Elsa (yes, after the snow queen) and I have the best family and friends in the world! I love teaching, playing with Elsa, anything and everything Disney, hanging out with my friends and family, reading (Harry Potter is my jam), baking, trying new recipes, sitting in fun new coffee shops, and traveling (especially Disneyland and Disney World!). I love to do volunteer work, and I help serve meals at a shelter in Dallas on the weekends. I also love to volunteer at camps during the summer for high school kids and adults with special needs. It is so much fun, and I get to meet so many awesome people!
I have the best parents that live right down the street from me! I also have a sister that lives in Memphis, TN, and works as a child-life specialist at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Her and her boyfriend got engaged this summer, so we are planning a wedding, and it is such a happy time in our family!
This website will have a lot of the documents that we will be using in class throughout the school year, so you can always check it to see what we are doing in class. Feel free to contact me via email (the best way to reach me) if you ever have any questions or concerns.
Get ready for a fun-filled year!
