Welcome to Mrs. Kalinec's class!
Name: Jennifer Kalinec
Grade/Subject: 6th grade Math
Hi, my name is Jennifer Kalinec and I am excited to be teaching sixth grade math again at Marion Elementary. This is my second year at Marion and in Allen ISD. Before coming to Marion, I spent 13 years in Richardson ISD where I taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, and was a Math Instructional Coach, working with Kinder-6th grade teachers and students. Sixth grade math is my favorite and I have loved my time at Marion. My goal is to make our math lessons as interactive and hands-on as possible so that students are engaged and excited about their learning.
I grew up in the small east Texas town of Longview and then went on to get my degree in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. After college, I moved to the Dallas area to complete my student teaching and have now been here for over 14 years.
I got married on October 14th last year and my husband and I live in Frisco. I have a stepson named Ethan who is in the 5th grade in Prosper ISD and we have a 9 month old border collie named Chuck. We are also looking forward to welcoming another little boy in January of 2019. In our spare time, we love being active, running, spending time at the pool, board games (Clue is our favorite!), and going to Six Flags.
Please don't hesitate to call or email if you have any questions.
Thanks for stopping by :)
