Norton Elementary

Hello! My name is Aimee Cherry and I am the Principal at Norton Elementary. I am so excited to get to know the parents and students at Norton; I believe that a strong partnership between home & school is a key element in the educational, social, and emotional success of students. 

A little about me: I am an Allen High School graduate… go Eagles! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Christian University and my Master’s degree in Education Administration from Concordia University in Austin, TX. I am finishing up my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce and am currently writing my doctoral dissertation on restorative practices. I have taught at Story Elementary and have been both the Campus Intervention Specialist and the Assistant Principal at Cheatham Elementary. 

I am married to another Allen High School graduate and we have two wonderful children. Our family is active in our church, loves to spend time at the lake, and we attend all of the Allen football & basketball games (say hi if you see me!) I am an avid reader, runner, and consumer of coffee.

I am dedicated to partnering alongside the excellent staff at Norton Elementary and helping them meet the needs of all our students. I am a big believer in the power of encouragement and kindness; I hope this is evident on our campus and that all stakeholders will benefit from a positive, welcoming school climate.
