Hello! My name is Aimee Cherry and I am the Assistant Principal at Cheatham Elementary. I love getting to know the parents and students at Cheatham; I believe that a strong partnership between home & school is a key element in the educational, social, and emotional success of students.

A little about me: I am an Allen High School graduate… go Eagles! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Christian University and my Master’s degree in Education Administration from Concordia University in Austin, TX. I am finishing up my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce and am currently writing my doctoral dissertation on restorative discipline practices. I have previously taught both second and third grade in Allen ISD and have been a Campus Intervention Specialist. I am married to John Cherry, another Allen High School graduate. We have two children, Kylee (2nd grade) and Jase (1st grade) who also attend Cheatham. Our family is active in our church, loves to spend time at the lake, and we attend all of the Allen football games (say hi if you see me!). I am an avid reader, runner, and consumer of coffee 😊

I love partnering alongside the excellent staff at Cheatham Elementary and helping them meet the needs of all our students. I am a big believer in the power of encouragement and kindness; I hope this is evident on our campus and that all stakeholders will benefit from a positive, welcoming school climate. My favorite word is JOY; I strive to "choose joy" every day and I encourage those around me to do the same!

I look forward to getting to know every member of the Cheatham community so please reach out to me if you ever have any comments, compliments, or concerns; I have included my contact information below.
