Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am thrilled to begin my fourth year of teaching at Lindsey Elementary! This is my fifth  year of teaching in Special Education. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to partner with you to assist in your child’s education! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions, concerns, or joys; communication is a key to success! Here in our classroom, we work on many different skills to develop each child’s academic readiness. We can stay quite busy throughout the day working on all of our skills in a variety of social and academic situations. An important aspect to our room is that we learn together. I look forward to the learning adventures this year will bring and being part of the Lindsey Lonestar team!

In our classroom we have the opportunity to have teacher aides to help us make it through the school year! We are blessed to have Mrs. Sarah Nehme joining us for her third year! Mrs. Nehme is amazing and absolutely essential to making our classroom run!

A little bit about the teacher:

I graduated from the University of North Texas in December of 2016 with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies along with my teaching certifications for general education (EC-6), special education (EC-12), and English as a Second Language (EC-12). After graduation I immediately began subbing across the Allen ISD district, which helped solidify my love for working with special needs children. I began my first year of teaching over at Anderson Elementary in their K-2 Special Education room and had the opportunity to join the Resource 2 program over here at Lindsey when it opened in 2018. I have continued to teach in the summers at ESY for Resource 2 and also ECSE. I am also working on my masters degree in Special Education through TWU with a graduation date of December 2021!

When I am not in the classroom or preparing for the classroom, I am spending time with my husband and our two pets (Reese - dog & Chunky - cat).  My husband Ryan is an Opera Singer and is the extrovert to balance out my introverted style! We got married in March of 2018 and relocated to McKinney from Denton in 2018. I love to spend time outdoors swimming and hiking but I also love to curl up and read a good book with a cup of chai tea!
