Hi! I am Stephanie Mooney and am so excited to serve as the new Assistant Principal for 7th grade at Curtis Middle School! This school year begins my 16th year in education and my 7th year as a campus administrator. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, I served as a middle school classroom teacher for nine years. I spent most of those years teaching 8th grade U.S. history, but have experience teaching 6th grade science and social studies, 7th grade Texas history, and 8th grade science. I earned my bachelor's degree in political science and psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler and my master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.
I have one daughter, Alexis, who will soon be graduating with her bachelor's degree from UT Tyler. She is my greatest accomplishment and I have truly enjoyed watching her grow into adulthood.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I also volunteer with a student travel program, Ambassador Leaders (formerly People to People Student Ambassadors), and have led leadership summits at Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, and Stanford. I am truly blessed to have the privilege of meeting and working with students from all over the world.
As a newcomer to Allen ISD, I am looking forward to a fantastic year of getting to know staff, students, parents, and all the wonderful things the community has to offer. Please say hello whenever you're on campus; I look forward to meeting you!
