Welcome to Norton and to the 2nd grade! I am very excited to be teaching here at Norton this year. I know we’re going to have a wonderful year together. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your parents better and watching you GROW!
I attended Michigan State University (Go Spartans!) and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked for McDonnel Douglas, Aerospace Division before taking time off to raise our children. When I returned to the outside work force I substitute taught for AISD for 8 years. Realizing my love for teaching, I earned my teaching certification and am now a thrilled first year full time teacher.
My husband Mitch is an engineer with Boeing and we have been married 28 years. He and I love to road bike together. We even rode the Hot 100 Road Bike Rally last year! We have 4 beautiful daughters, and all attended Norton. Rachel (24), graduated with her Bachelors degree in Neuroscience from St. Edwards University in Austin (Go Hilltoppers!) and is currently working on her Masters degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin (Go Longhorns!). Lydia (21), is in her senior year at the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) studying Psychology with minors in Russian, Political Science, and Military Science. She will graduate from OU’s ROTC program in the spring of 2020 as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army (Hooah!). Genevieve (19), is a sophomore at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) studying Graphic Design and Art History. She plays polo on the OSU Club team. Audrey (16), is a junior at Allen High School (Go Eagles!). She earned a spot in the school’s Health Science Clinical program and is on a club soccer team. In addition, our family is hosting a German Exchange Student this year, Elise, also 16. Elise is attending Allen HS as a junior this year as well. She has studied the English language 7 years and speaks English very well! We have 2 cats, Finn & Rowena, and a dog, Cisco. You will be hearing lots about my friend Cisco this year!
You are more than welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am able to respond more quickly via email throughout the school day. If you leave a voicemail, please understand that I may not be able to check the message until the students have been dismissed. Thank you for understanding!
