Welcome to Norton and to the 2nd grade! I am very excited to be teaching here at Norton this year. I know we’re going to have a wonderful year together. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your parents better and watching you GROW!
I attended Michigan State University (Go Spartans!) and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked for McDonnel Douglas, Aerospace Division and then Boeing before taking time off to raise our children. When I returned to the outside work force I substitute taught for AISD for 8 years. Realizing my love for teaching, I earned my teaching certification and am now a second year full time teacher.
My husband Mitch is an engineer with Boeing and we have been married 29 years. We love playing Pickle Ball together. If you haven't heard about Pickle Ball, ask me or Google it - it's fun! We have 4 beautiful daughters, and all attended Norton. Rachel graduated with her Bachelors degree in Neuroscience from St. Edwards University in Austin (Go Hilltoppers!) and is currently working on her Masters degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin (Go Longhorns!). Lydia graduated in May 2020 from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!). She studied Psychology with minors in Russian, Political Science, and Military Science. She also graduate from OU’s ROTC program in the spring of 2020 as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army (Hooah!). Genevieve is a junior at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) studying Art History. Genna also plays polo on the OSU Club team. Audrey is a senior at Allen High School (Go Eagles!). She completed AHS's Health Science Clinical program her junior year and earned a spot in the school’s Personal Care Technician program this year. She would like to be an Orthopedic Surgeon. We have 2 cats, Finn & Rowena, and two dogs, Cisco & Nico. Nico is a puppy and into everything! You can get a peek at them in the Listening Library (link is above). I think you'll be hearing lots about my furry friends this year!
Parents, I welcome our collaboration so please contact me with any questions or concerns. I am able to respond more quickly via email throughout the school day. If you leave a voicemail, please understand that I may not be able to check the message until the students have been dismissed. Thank you for understanding!
