Welcome to 4th Grade!

I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year.  This will be my 9th year teaching!  I attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  After graduating, I moved to Lubbock, Texas and received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy Education from Texas Tech University.  I most recently completed my Dyslexia Certificate through the Dyslexia Training Institute. I spent my first 5 years teaching in Lubbock ISD, 1 year in Plano ISD, and this will be my 3rd year in Allen.

I am very passionate about instilling a love of reading and writing in all my students!  A little bit about me: My husband and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary.  In February 2022, we welcomed our precious son, Zachary.  We also have an adorable Standard Poodle and two cats!  I can't wait to work with you and your child this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns at sarah.smith@allenisd.org  or to leave a voicemail 972-562-1800 ext. 116327.
