Greetings AIM Families!
My name is Jillian Hernandez, and I am so thrilled to be your child's AIM teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.
It's going to be a year unlike any other!
I am proud to be an Allen native-- I even graduated from Allen High School before attending the University of North Texas. Currently, I am working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
This will be my tenth year working for Allen ISD, and I know it's going to be a great one. I have taught second and third grades with a focus on gifted learners, third grade gifted and talented at the GATE Academy, and was previously the AIM teacher at Marion Elementary before taking last year "off" to begin a new journey with my first son, Rhys.
Rhys, my husband Marc, and I alive in Allen with our crazy Manx cat, Milo, and our hound/shepherd mix, Domino. When I'm not at school, I spend most of my time with Rhys, but I also enjoy cooking (from scratch!), gardening, crafting, and painting. Chances are, I'll probably run into one or two of you at my favorite stores Hobby Lobby or Target!
I love being in Allen, and I definitely understand, first hand, the high standards and goals of the school district and advanced academics. I strive to do my best each and every day, and I expect my students to do the same.
I am very excited for this school year! Please feel free to contact me at any time, for any matter, large or small!
