Hello! Welcome to 7th Grade ELA Resource!   

I am excited about the 2022-2023 school year!       

      My name is Selwaan Mahmoud, and I am the 7th grade ELA resource teacher!  This is my third year at Ereckson Middle School and my 28th year in education. I have a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education and a Master of Science in Education. I am ESL certified and also hold a leadership certification. As a teacher, my goal is not to only teach reading and writing skills, but to coach students in discovering how they learn best! Together we will build executive function skills and learn different strategies of metacognition. 

     Throughout the year we will be exploring integrated units of reading and writing and building our leadership skills as well! Below are a few school supplies that the students will need to keep in the classroom. I can be reached by email at any time!
