Miss Pastula
Welcome!
Hey there, my name is Carmen Pastula and this is my third year at Norton Elementary. I am so excited about being your child's fourth grade science and social studies teacher!
Bio
I was born and raised here in Allen, Tx. Since I was a little girl, I have always known that I wanted to become a teacher. I graduated from Allen High in 2013 and went to Collin College where I took all of my basic courses. From there, I transferred to Texas A&M University- Commerce where I received my bachelors in interdisciplinary studies. I loved Allen ISD so much that I decided to come back and teach in my hometown.
Fun Facts
I have always lived in Allen, but I have traveled all over the United States and parts of Europe. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking in the mountains and kayaking on the lakes. A few years ago, my family and I took a trip to Scotland. Our Scotland trip was my favorite vacation of all time. We drove all throughout the country and stopped in very unique places where we visited castles, villages, and historic sites.
My family is everything to me. When I'm not in school, I'll most likely be found spending my time with them shopping, traveling, or going on small adventures to the zoo or sports events. I love animals, but cats are my favorite. I have one calico cat named Patches and she goes everywhere with me. Another activity I enjoy in my spare time is watching movies. Disney+ has been my best friend since it came out!
Philosophy
Education is a gift that not everyone is fortunate enough to receive. As an educator, I don't take this job lightly. Teaching children begins with building a strong foundation with students. Children need to know they are cared for and that they are in a safe place. After a strong foundation has been built, children will learn. All students are unique and bring something special to the classroom. Diversity in thinking allows children to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my goal for students to share their ideas and take risks. We are all on one team and we support one another as we learn and grow together. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.
