    Welcome to 1st Grade!

I am so excited to be back at Norton this year as a 1st grade teacher!

I received my Bachelors and Masters at UNT in special education.  Before teaching, I provided therapy and consulted in private clinics for over 10 years for children with autism.  Once we started a family, I stayed home for 11 years to be with my children, and then decided to go into public education.  This will be my 5th year teaching.

I am a native Texan, and was born and raised here in the DFW area.  My husband Stu and I have 3 girls, and we have lived in Allen for 16 years. My daughter Katie graduated from Allen High School this past year, and she will be attending UNT this fall to become an elementary school teacher. Sophie will be in 10th grade at AHS, and Ruby will be a 4th grader here at Norton.  All of my girls started here at Norton since kindergarten, so Norton is like our second home.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family to Colorado or anywhere nice and cool to escape the heat here in the summer.  I enjoy hikes in the mountains, spending time with our dog Minnie, who we rescued during quarantine, and when time allows, I love putting together puzzles.

I look forward to teaching and supporting your child in a positive environment to help them achieve their maximum potential.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.  Email is preferred, but if you'd prefer to leave a voice mail, please understand I may not be able to get back with you until dismissal.  My email address is julliet.mcdonald@allenisd.org.

I look forward to a Knightastic Year!!
