"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."
This school year will be my 20th year as an educator. Before being named the Assistant Principal at Cheatham Elementary, I was an instructional coach at Vaughan Elementary and Chandler Elementary. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Texas A & M University in 1998. I began my career with Garland ISD where I taught 2nd and 5th grades. After relocating to the Collin County area, I joined Allen ISD in 2005. I taught 4th grade and ESL at Rountree Elementary. In 2010, I moved to Anderson Elementary where I taught 6th grade English for seven years.
I completed my master’s degree in reading education at Texas Woman’s University in 2015. I am certified as a Principal as Instructional Leader and Reading Specialist for all grade levels. I am currently working on my doctoral degree in reading education with an emphasis in educational leadership at Texas Woman’s University. I also serve as an adjunct professor with the Literacy and Learning Department at Texas Woman’s University.
I have four beautiful children. Caroline is a junior at Texas A&M University, Gillian is a freshman at the The American University of Paris, Harrison is a junior at Allen High School, and Meredith is a freshman at the Lowery Freshman Center.
In our free time, we love to travel, go to the movies, and play with our three dogs, Teddy, Bailey, and Nala.
