ABOUT ME: 

I grew up in Wylie and attended Wylie High School and played sports as much as I could.  I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  I grew up in Wylie and married my high school sweetheart, Jason Light.  We have two children, Brady, 15, and Macey, 11.  My husband is also a teacher and a coach.  My family loves sports, hanging out at the lake and spending time with our family and friends. 

This is my 18th year in education.  I started out as a teacher and coach and when we started a family, I retired from coaching.  I have spent the majority of my teaching career in elementary school, where I have taught Special Education, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade.  Elementary school has my heart.  This will be my 2nd year as a Dyslexia Therapist, which is near and dear to me because our daughter is also dyslexic.  I think I have a unique perspective because I am both a teacher of dyslexia therapy and also a parent of a dyslexic child.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to help children succeed in reading!

I am so grateful to be at Allen ISD and have the opportunity to serve the students of Chandler Elementary.
