Hi! I am Mrs. Pickens, and I'm so excited about teaching 4th grade math and science at Cheatham this year! This is my 17th year teaching and I've taught 2nd-4th grade. Fourth grade holds a special place in my heart - it is when I decided I was going to become a teacher. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved here when I was 14. I have an older brother that still lives in Brooklyn, so we love to travel and visit family.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Chad, for 19 years, and we have two children. My husband teaches 9th grade World Geography at the Lowery Freshman center - so we are a teaching family. Tim will be in Kindergarten at Cheatham this year, and Eli will be in preschool. I also have a cat (Willy), a dog (Shea), and lots of fish.
I know this is going to be the best school year yet!
