PICK UP MEDICATION FROM NURSE CINDYPlease remember that all medication in the clinic, both prescription and over-the-counter (Epipens, inhalers, nebulizer vials, Tylenol, etc), must be picked up by the parent/guardian. A great time for parents to pick up medicine is after attending classroom parties, the Kindergarten Review, or Sixth Grade Graduation. Any medication that is not picked up by the last day of school will be discarded. We are not allowed to store student medicine in the clinic over the summer to be used next school year. Thank you! - Nurse Cindy
HOW TO AVOID CHIGGER BITESThe Watters Crossing Neighborhood lawns and the Norton Elementary play area and park are infested with chiggers this year. Some of our students are getting bites when they play outside in the grass, especially if they sit or roll in it. To help avoid chigger bites as much as possible, you may want to spray your child with bug spray on the feet and lower legs before he/she plays outside. One of the best ways to apply the bug spray is to apply it on bare feet, then put socks on and spray the socks and lower legs before putting on shoes. Field day is this Friday, May 26, and bug spray on lower extremities will go a long way in protecting your child from getting multiple chigger bites. Also encourage your children to not sit or roll in the grass since that is how chiggers get on the upper body area.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING NEXT YEAR’S MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSES!!Current 6th and 7th grade students may access their 2017-2018 “course selections” through Family Access through May 23, 2017. This will provide students with a look at courses they selected as well as courses they qualified for through Advanced Academics. This is not their final schedule, only a listing of course selections. Students who did not meet placement criteria for 7th grade Advanced Math will automatically be re-evaluated by the Advanced Academics office. NO APPEALS need to be filed.Requests to move from a Pre-AP course to an on-level course must be submitted in writing to the Ereckson MS campus counselor (Renae Perez – 7thgrade, Kim Petty – 8th grade). All requests for changes must be submitted to Ereckson Middle School no later than May 26, 2017. Contact Mrs. Gilbert at Norton to get a request form to submit.
