About Me:

We will get to know each other this year but here are a couple of things to know:

This is my sixth year at Norton, sixth year in fourth grade, and sixth year of teaching. Each year has been different and it's part of why I LOVE teaching fourth grade. 

After growing up in Richardson, TX I made my way to the University of North Texas. While there I studied elementary education and also played on and captained UNT's women's ultimate frisbee team, ENVY. I still enjoy playing frisbee, I play Allen league in the spring, summer, and fall. This plays right into one of my favorite hobbies, being outside! I love traveling to cities with mountains, or hiking, especially if they have cooler weather! 

Names are important to me and pronouncing your name correctly will be one of my very first goals upon meeting. My last name is pronounced Ha-kez! I am happy to repeat it as many times as you need to hear it to help you learn it (I am a teacher after all)!
