Welcome! My name is Amanda Tabor and I am the Principal here at Story Elementary. 2022-2023 will mark my 10th year as the principal here and  I love being a part of this amazing community. Here are a few interesting facts about me: I graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialty in Reading. I also have a certification in Dance and Early Childhood. In  2007, I graduated with a Masters in Education Administration, and I am entering my 23rd year in education.  In 2005-2006, I was named Teacher of the Year at Marion Elementary, and in October of 2008, I was named Teacher of the Month for Collin County by KLAK Radio-McKinney.

In November 2002 I married my amazing husband, Dr. Joshua Tabor. He is an Digital Learning Specialist in Denton ISD so we both have a passion for education. Josh and I have a son named Braxton  who will be in Sixth Grade this year at Story. We also have 2 dogs-Lucy Loo and Faith Marie and 2 cats- Mr. Spock and Aelin Rose. In my spare time, I love to shop, read, and spend time with family! Speaking of family... My parents are a huge part of my life, my dad is a retired Dallas police officer and my mom worked as a fitness instructor and interior decorator when we were little. I have one younger sister, Dr. Alexis Wilson, who is teacher at Boyd H.S. in McKinney.
