Welcome to Olson! I am very excited to be your child's 5th grade teacher. My husband Ray and I just celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary this summer and have lived in Allen for 32 years. This will be my 18th year of teaching. Previously, I spent several years at home with my three amazing children Joshua, Carah, and Mikaela. In addition my husband and I have three precious granddaughters Sadie, Sutton, and Scout.
Before returning to work full time, I worked part time as a contracted ELA and Math tutor for Allen ISD with students in grades 3rd through 6th. I've been a part of the teaching staff at Olson since 2009 when it first opened. For the first seven years here, I taught 4th grade Reading, Writing, and SS. During the next two years, I taught 3rd grade. After that I taught 6th grade ELA and World Cultures for two years. For the past two years I have taught 5th grade ELA, and look forward to teaching it again on our 5th grade team.
My family and I love to travel to new places and always look forward to the many new adventures that await us. Some of our most favorite trips include Cancun, France, Glacier Park, Montana, London, and Nashville.
