As an educator I have experienced a diverse look at education. These experiences have included; Instructional Assistant, K-5th Teacher, Bilingual/ESL Teacher, Outreach Consultant (Community/Parent Liaison), Bilingual Instructional Specialist, Assistant Principal, Director of Bilingual/ESL Programs, and Principal. I am an advocate for bilingual education, and I have served on the Board of the Bilingual/ESL Education Association of the Metroplex (B.E.A.M.) as the Vice President and President, and also on the Board of the Texas Association of Bilingual Education (TABE) as the Secretary.
I believe that in order for every student to be successful, we must have high expectations and quality instruction that meets the learning needs of each individual student. The school has to function as a community of students, staff, and parents who work together with the common goal of ensuring that the needs of students come first. As an educational leader, I am committed to providing a caring and safe school environment that allows each student to grow socially, emotionally, and academically in order to reach his/her potential.
This will be my 27th years in education. Education has been a true calling in my life, and I have enjoyed and learned from every role that I have been blessed to serve in. This will be my 4th year at Boyd as the campus principal. It is an honor and a blessing to serve such an amazing group of students, parents, and teachers!
