Conference: 11:30 - 12:35 PMWelcome to Boyd Elementary!!Blackhawk Pride
Boyd Elementary is a great place to be and I am very happy to be a part of such a wonderful family. This will be my 3rd year teaching at Boyd. However, this will be my 24th year of teaching. I studied and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I am certified to teach Early Childhood - 4th grade. In addition, I hold an ESL certification and National Board Certification. Prior to teaching at Boyd, I have taught K-2 in Jenks, Oklahoma and Frisco, Texas.
I enjoy teaching children and embrace the opportunity to help them make connections in and to their world around them. I enjoy the excitement and joy that each day brings in the classroom. Teaching is a team sport and I look forward to working with you to help your child be all that they can be!
On a personal note, I am married to a wonderful fellow, Mel. We have two children and four grandchildren. Now that the children are grown with families of their own, we have two dogs that we think hung the moon! I'm sure your children will share Callie and Maizee's antics with you as we move through the school year. When we are not working, we love going to the movies or enjoying some Longhorn football. Mel and I are hoping for good things from the Longhorns this year. In addition, we are frequent flyers at the beach at Surfside, Texas for some sun and fun.
As always, I am available to you to help make this school year a successful one for all of us! I do love to communicate with my parents through Class DoJo, phone calls, E-mail, weekly newsletters, report cards, and conferences. Please feel free to call or E-mail with questions or concerns.
I look forward to working with all of you.
Remember to .....speak softly, listen carefully, and hold gently....
