District extends free meal program

Allen ISD will continue providing free meals to students through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Seamless Summer Option program for the rest of the 2020-2021 school year.

Sponsored by the USDA and the Texas Department of Agriculture, this program allows students in elementary and middle school to receive breakfast and lunch meals in the school cafeteria at no charge with the option to purchase a-la-carte items. No signup is required for In-Person learners. The program has been in place since September 2020.

Additionally, the district offers pre-ordered meals for all At-Home learners, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, and for children 18 or younger at no cost. Pre-ordered meals are available daily at Boyd Elementary, Rountree Elementary, Curtis Middle School, and Ereckson Middle School from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The meal includes one lunch and the next day’s breakfast. Heating and holding instructions are included. Sign up is required for At-Home Learners and opens every Monday at 2 p.m. and closes the following Sunday for the next week.
