Families and community members are invited to visit Allen ISD's new STEAM Center on Thursday, January 24 from 4:30-7 p.m. Some parking is available on site at the facility (1680 Ridgeview Dr., Allen, TX 75013), and overflow parking with shuttle service will be available at Mary Evans Elementary (1225 Walnut Springs Dr., Allen, TX 75013).
This new facility is dedicated to STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) for students in high school, middle school. and elementary. A majority of the the STEAM Center is designed for high school programming, and up to 500 high school students per class period will begin utilizing the facility in the Fall 2019 semester. The facility opened on January 8 for elementary campuses to visit for STEAM-releated learning.
The STEAM Center features a fossil wall, a 250-seat theater, an OmniGlobe, outdoor classrooms, science labs, physics labs, collaborative work spaces, and much more.
