WHERE ALLEN EAGLES SOAR! The Allen Eagles were well represented in this year’s NFL draft. Kyler Murray, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Oklahoma, was the first player selected overall by the Arizona Cardinals. Murray graduated from Allen in 2015 after leading the Eagles to UIL state football championships in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The Carolina Panthers drafted former Allen offensive lineman Greg Little from Ole Miss in the second round. Lineman Bobby Evans from Oklahoma was drafted by by the Los Angeles Rams in the third round. Little graduated from Allen in 2016 and Evans in 2015. Additionally, Jalen Guyton, a 2015 AHS graduate, was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.  He is a wide receiver from the University of North Texas.

Allen High School had two former players on NFL teams this past year.  Offensive lineman Cedric Ogbuehi played with the Cincinnati Bengals and is currently with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Running back Jonathan Williams has played with the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and is currently with the Indianapolis Colts.

According to Pro-Football-Reference.com, Ogbuehi and Williams are two of the six former Allen players to ever play in the NFL, joining a list that includes kicker George Benyola (Giants), guard Doug Skene (Patriots), center J.D. Walton (Broncos, Giants and Chargers) and defensive back Steven Terrell (Seahawks and Chiefs).
