Board of Trustees approves employee salary increase

The Allen ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved salary increases for all employees at the July 23 workshop meeting. The new plan will take effect immediately. Faculty and staff will receive the following increases based upon the midpoint of their salary pay grade:

  • A 3.5% increase for all teachers, counselors, nurses and librarians with more than five years of experience
  • A 3% increase for all other employees

Following the passage of the Texas school-funding bill known as House Bill 3, Allen ISD was required to contribute a minimum of $520,054 towards salary increases this school year. With the new AISD compensation plan, district leadership and the Board of Trustees have committed a total of $5.1 million for salary increases.

The approved plan also increases the starting teacher salary from $52,000 to $54,500.

“Allen ISD is committed to recruiting and maintaining quality teachers and staff, and the Board of Trustees has honored that commitment with this increase,” Dr. Scott Niven, superintendent of schools said. “Educators have a lot of choices in the DFW area. I want to make sure that Allen ISD remains competitive in recruiting the best teachers and staff to help support our students.”
